Compared to the fresh on which the movie was based, the character of Tess is funnier, wittier, and more intriguing on conceal than on page. The overall theme of exactly what the Templar savor is will garner your attention, but play second fiddle to the chemistry between Foley and Sorvino.

(Major situation spoiler warning) The one criticism I have is that the film version doesn’t account for the fancy as successfully as the original does. In the recent it is very certain that the admire is a faked version of the gospel of Jesus, with the intent that it be aged to unite all religions. 1994 was a ample year for Aussie films. PRISCILLA and MURIEL’S WEDDING came out at the same time, and both earned a cult following because of their over-the-top themes. Also, an ABBA revival was happening at that time, and these films featured ABBA music.

PRISCILLA has many droll moments, but what makes it so special is the amazing scenery and colours – truly showcasing Australia’s sparkling outback. Overall, the film is a pleasure to glance again and again. It tells the narrative of three poke queens who state out across the Australian outback in an frail bus affectionally titled “Priscilla”. Along the draw, they become keen in many deplorable situations.

DVD SUMMARY – Originally released as an abominable blotchy pan/scan DVD in Australia, the film recently received the treatment it deserved for its 10 year anniversary! Yes, it was recently in it’s honest aspect ratio (2:35) and given an anamorphic transfer. While this current transfer is calm not 100% pristine (white flecks here and there), it is peaceful a tall improvement on the modern DVD release. It’s wonderful to gape this film in all its widescreen glory after all these years. The colours and scenery will blow you away. The soundtrack has also been remixed in DTS and 5.1 surround sound. This 10 Year Anniversary also contains lots of special features, which is wonderful for a film of its age.

The terrible news is that the original DVD (in pink packaging) is only available in Australia. I recommend overseas buyers getting contain of this version over the new American DVD. The American DVD is only letterbox transfer (ie. not anamorphic) and doesn’t include the special features.

A film like this sinks or swims with the casting of the leads, and luckily, all three main actors are absolutely suited. I have to confess that I hadn’t really liked Hugo Weaving before seeing this film. I disliked his role as “Agent Smith” in THE MATRIX, and barely noticed his “Elrond” in THE LORD OF THE RINGS. But I liked him enormously in this one. Of the three leads, he was probably the best and most alive to trail performer. I had previously seen Guy Pearce in L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, RAVENOUS, and MEMENTO, but I have to say that this is probably his finest performance. I have always been a Terence Price fan, and I have to say that, unlike the other two actors, he makes a terrible looking transsexual. Nonetheless, the unruffled self-possession and dignity with which his character conducts herself helps Ticket dominate most of the scenes in which he appears. Interestingly, although he plays a post op transsexual, he continues in his performance to roar in a relatively deep, masculine tone. One of the most scrumptious things about the film is seeing the device that the three performers gradually change in the arrangement they interrelate with the others.

The most lustrous thing about this film is that at no point does it succumb to the slightest tinge of self-parody or irony. The director as well as the three leads all steal their characters with the utmost seriousness, so that the film ends up not being a film about amble queens, but about three individual who impartial happen to be creep queens, a subtle but crucial distinction.

Most of all the film is fun. There are many, many over-the-top moments, and not every one succeeds, but most do. The script is edifying, the scenery striking, and the music fun, even if most of the songs are, in one sense, outright dismal.

Anyway. There’s also the afore-mentioned Tsubaki story-arch, when the group must face an conventional enemy of Kikyo’s. Other major things that happen here is Naraku gives life to another demon, one that starts out without a face until he takes one from one of his victims, and who turns out to be the re-incarnated Onigumo, the thief who sold his soul to demons which led to the creation of Naraku. And then Inu-Yasha sets out on a quest to develop his tetsaiga more worthy, but to effect that he objective might have to capture an innocent life. Later Inu-Yasha and his comrades, Koga and his wolf pack, and Sesshomaru and his lackie Jaken all battle a clan of panther demons. Inu-Yasha’s group and Koga also want to rescue Kagome, who’s been captured by the panthers. (Now if only they could all conclude fighting each other, they honest might derive…) Finally, Kagome and co. construct a starteling discovery when they learn about Rin, the limited human girl who travels with Sesshomaru and Jaken.

One thing I really fancy about this season is we secure two episodes where Kagome shows she has a really cute, girlish side to her. (”Shippo Gets An Furious Challenge” and “Only You, Sango”) Also I enjoyed “Jaken’s Opinion To Purchase The Tetsaiga”, where the lizard-like imp sets out on his contain, with Rin tagging along, to…well, the name magnificent powerful says it. Jaken becomes mighty like Wilie E. Cyote from the Road-Runner cartoons, with every plot to buy Inu-Yasha’s sword inevitably ending in distress.

I can’t even rationalize giving it 1 star because that implies it got 1/5 of “something” while I can’t explore that it did anything proper, except space up a lucrative platform to commence millions of “fanfare” junk to market to kids i.e. numerous video games, coloring books, clothing, pc software, and soundtracks all appear when typing in Shark Story on amazon’s search.

After watching it with my considerable other, we pondered off and on for about 24 hours trying desperately to deem of a worse movie that we have seen. Mild none have arrive to mind.

This movie plays off of every stereotype I can believe of. The “frosty” dismal guy who raps and dances, the white guy that can’t dance or doesn’t know any cold hand shakes, the jamaicans that are humdrum, the italians that are mobsters, the white chick that is meek….and finally the unintended, me, the viewer that wants to puke. If my kids were subjected to this I would have a lot of explaining to do to dispell all the stereotypes that are maximized in this movie, ok that trivializes what my role of a parent would be if they were subjected to this…if I had taken any kid to scrutinize this movie I would have left early, which isn’t an easy task with kids.

This movie shamelessly plugged so many consumer products I felt like I was sitting through one large commercial, Gup instead of Gap, Guppy Kremes instead of Kristpy Kremes, Coral Cola instead of Coka Cola to name a few mock products which are determined advertisements for the loyal product due to the likeness in trademarks. Design to target that young market, corporate whores!

Also the upright of ths record seemed to be if you screw up about a hundred times, some chick will befriend you out, then you can screw over that chick about a hundred times, lie to the entire community, and in the slay everyone will like you any design and the chick will near benefit to you if you seize her balloons. Great MESSAGE FOR ALL!!

Oscar (Smith) the fish leads a normal life. He is objective an average guy working at the Whale Wash. One day, he wanders into shark territory and is chased by Frankie. Unfortunately for Frankie, the crawl ends in his death, not at Oscar’s hands, but by pure accident. Oscar sees as an opportunity to “be someone”, and rapid takes the credit. The fish world begins to call him the “Shark Slayer”, two female fish originate to point to their interest, and the shark godfather (DeNiro) makes it his business to pick up the murderer of Frankie…his son.

“Shark Memoir” is yet another challenging movie that will appeal to both children and adults. The dissimilarity is, this time it almost seems made for adults first and kids second. The most positive references are to “The Godfather” and “Goodfellas”, two movies that no kids should have seen. Also, advertising placement has accelerate amok in this movie. Every method you turn in the city, there are certain “spurious ads” for genuine products that is very distracting. Most everything in this movie is overkill, in fact.

The snort talents are credible and the animation is marvelous, although I found Oscar to behold kind of creepy with his arrive human-looking face. “Shark Chronicle” also is nothing like “Finding Nemo”, which is both estimable and dreadful. Safe, because it is not retreading material that is not too old-fashioned yet. Unpleasant, because “Finding Nemo” was so considerable better. “Shark Chronicle” is a decent movie that will be enjoyed by most, and I did laugh a number of times while viewing it, but my advice is to wait for DVD.

Once again Universal is short-changing their classics by cramming them onto double-sided, dual layer DVDs in order offer them at sell-through prices.

What’s cross with this? This format (called DVD 18s) are very susceptible to random playback defects because too noteworthy info is being compressed into too shrimp of a station. Their modern Abbot & Costello, Hammer Panic, and Night Stalker, and Bela Lugosi sets were famed for freezing up during playback.

I have no direct with streamlining packaging, but who cares if the disk won’t play through? Most other studios who released to this format have already abandoned the practice for this very reason. Reach on Universal, cessation releasing sinful mechandise.

When you are buying classic movies on DVD, your main grief probably is the quality of the film transfers. Who wants to search for grainy, unrestored black-and-white films when such glowing transfers of other films have been released (Now Voyager or Mildred Pierce, for example)? My point is all classic films deserve gracious dvd transfers.

I am gratified to picture that the films in Universal’s Marlene Dietrich collection all scrutinize very wonderful. The transfers are not perfect, and quite possibly could have been restored to a greater extent. However, the transfers behold honest as qualified as anything WB has been releasing lately. The transfers are about on par with titles from the Greta Garbo or Joan Crawford collections from WB; not perfect, but very nice.

My main complaint is there were not more Dietrich films in this collection. I would adore to also have Shanghai Instruct, The Scarlet Empress, Desire, Angel, Dishonored, and A Foreign Affair. Hopefully, Universal will release a second volume with these titles.

Athough the packaging is magnificent, it is cheap. The movies are crammed on two-sided DVDs. It’s mystifying why Universal saw fit to cram four titles on one double-sided DVD and one title (Golden Earrings) on one side of the other double-sided DVD (leaving a complete side with nothing on it) . It seems a end of DVD residence to me; why not effect three more titles in the area with that extra status? Or, for better report quality, attach one title on three DVD sides, and two on one side? My guess is they were in a astronomical, careless speed.

Luckilly, this is not that gigantic of a deal. The films are here, they gawk generous, and the mark is a bargain! In these days, who can afford to exhaust all their money on movies? WB may be charging the cost of this station for one movie alone, and with about the same transfer quality. At least Universal gives us five films for the cost of one WB title!

Okay, Season 3 was respectable and Season 4 was even better. Now here near thirteen more episodes. If you like your Batman integrated into the wider DC superhero universe, then Season 5 will be hog heaven (but don’t secure it twisted; THE BATMAN is not at all placed in the same continuity as the shows in Bruce Timm’s DC Though-provoking Universe) . This fifth season finds a darknight detective even more amenable to teamwork, although that’s not to say he’s all of a sudden the life of the party. Dude composed broods muchly and cloaks himself in mystery and intimidation; that’s unbiased how he rolls. But, continuing the trend begun in Season 4, Season 5 showcases members of the Justice League. The two episode arc “The Batman/Superman Memoir” kicks it off by teaming up the World’s Finest, Batman and Superman, in a nifty account featuring a whole gang of supervillains and the Bat going up against the Man of Steel. I guess it’s appropriate that the season (and the series) would end with the two-part “Lost Heroes,” a big-scale Justice League adventure.

Animated shows don’t salvage a lot of hurry nowadays, do they? THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES moving series honest got the axe. And, yes, horribly, this is the last season in THE BATMAN series, so all the more reason to relish this one. The best portion is Batman and Robin teaming up with various of the Justice League. Robin’s awed reactions to meeting these other heroes are priceless. One downside to so many spotlights on the JLA is that less time is given to the Bat family. I miss Batgirl and her sarcasm; here, she’s relegated to less face time. We do learn that time hasn’t been standing calm for Barbara Gordon as she’s now passe enough to befriend college (”Attack of the Dreadful Trio”) . Speaking of the Bat fam, there’s a sighting of Nightwing; unfortunately, he’s a character in an Internet game (”The Metal Face of Comedy”) . The favorable news is that Bat Mite doesn’t point to up at all.

Regarding the storytelling and the visuals, I don’t possess Season 5 to be better than the prior two seasons, which are very first-rate. THE BATMAN was always intended for the younger plot of kids, so the stories here aren’t as gloomy or psychological or as thematically layered as those in, say, BATMAN: THE Challenging SERIES. Should this season acquire more favor with the viewers, it’ll be because of its glittering star power. And if the driving theme song reminds one a bit of Hawaii Five-O, well, that’s not such a abominable thing, is it?

I can’t envision a future in which there isn’t an ongoing Batman tantalizing series. Hopefully, the powers that be can dust off Kevin Conroy to do what he does best.

- Episode 6 – “Joker Disclose” – Glean on board the Cuckoo Choo Choo. An outbreak of “giggle bandits” sweeping Gotham could only mean the return of the Joker.

- Episode 7 – “Ring Toss” – With Sinestro taking Hal Jordan out of action, the Green Lantern power ring ends up in the clutches of the Penguin.

- Episode 8 – “The Metal Face of Comedy” – A Joker henchman’s invention leads to the formation of a digital Clown Prince of Crime.

- Episode 9 – “Attack of the Unpleasant Trio” – Thanks to Dr. Kirk Langstrom’s mutagens, three college outcasts mutate into beasts and go to come by their revenge on those what done them wicked. Also, Batgirl’s a college freshman.

- Episode 10 – “The Ruin of the Batman” – Gotham’s criminal element gets its gain costumed champions: Wrath and Scorn, who seem to contain a personal grudge against the Dynamic Duo.

- Episode 11 – “What Goes Up…” – A gravity-defying episode as Murky Veil escapes with the assist of the Shadow Thief, and the pair goes after a Thanagarian meteorite. Can a positive winged Thanagarian lawman be too far late?

- Episodes 12 & 13 – “Lost Heroes” (Parts 1 & 2) ” – Hugo Peculiar and the Joining return as, one by one, Justice League members start to vanish until, finally, only the two least remarkable heroes are left – Green Arrow and Batman.

The Gloomy Knight welcomes the Justice League to Gotham City in “The Batman: The Complete Fifth Season”. As the mysterious crime fighter Batman, young industrialist Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protect Gotham City from such hazardous rogues like Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Mr. Freeze, but now he must test his courage and skills along side Earth’s greatest superheroes. Its only special features are “Joining Forces: The Batman’s Legendary Team-Ups” (9 minutes) and “The Batman: Justice League Profiles” (12 minutes) featurettes and trailers of other Warner Brother DVD releases and “Run Racer” video game. Despite the lack of solid bonus features, “The Batman: The Complete Fifth Season” earns a “B”.

Although the movie’s sensuality wouldn’t raise an eyebrow nowadays, it’s easy to gaze how audiences from the 50’s would have been affected by Brigitte Bardot’s sensuous execute and how this movie revolutionized the foreign film market. Contrary to accepted view and despite Juliette’s regrettable infidelity, there’s really no sex in this movie, unless you reflect a one-time tush shot to be overly sexual. The DVD booklet mentions how some audiences originally misperceived this film’s sexuality to be so brave that rampant gossip soon generated complaints about scenes that weren’t even in the movie! The cinematography is breathtaking, with the Riviera beckoning you to recede there…or at least visit for an extended period of time. The only aspect of the movie that is dated and very mighty out-of-sync with new times is the attitude that men are pleasurable to women and that, with advantageous discipline and control, women can be kept in line and “forced” to appreciate their husbands.

The Criterion edition is, as always, extraordinary. With director Vadim’s approval prior to his passing away, the movie was restored to its new uncut version in a glorious widescreen format. The digital tranfer is impressive and one of the extras on the disc illustrates the clean-up process and provides before-and-after comparisons. The colors are now audacious and vibrant, and the print is crisp and certain. Expedient restoration and clean-up! The modern US theatrical trailer is included and is hilarious as it makes the movie seem so cheap, sleazy and lurid.

Now here comes the downer: this movie deserves better English subtitles and infinitely better English dubbing. If you’re trying to learn French, you don’t want to do it with these subtitles. I found them to be quite erroneous during a few scenes and, with no rapid-fire dialog in this film to clarify it, not as stout as they should have been. These inaccuracies don’t detract from the tale as a whole, but given that this is a Criterion release, I feel more attention should have been paid to this aspect of the film. As far as the dubbing is concerned, don’t even bother. After a microscopic or so of listening to the dubbed version, it’s apparent why the dubbed feature isn’t listed on the DVD case. The actors’ readings are flat and dull. Criterion has proved repeatedly they can do noteworthy better than that, so what happened here?

I aloof give the movie itself 5 stars for it is an appealing time capsule into 50’s psychology, and it’s a obliging chronicle as well. And how can you not give 5 stars to Brigitte Bardot! I did subtract one star for the quite bad subtitles. Unexcited, for around $20, you can score a fun romp with Brigitte in the Riviera of the 1950’s. Sounds marvelous to me. Worth owning.

After having seen so many movies during the last 25 years, I’m beginning to understand two or three things about cinema. For example, it’s impossible to profess a passion for cinema if the movies you watch are only masterpieces. Beget me or not, but I’m not able to gawk three Fellini or Bergman’s movies in a row without feeling a bit bored. I MUST frigid down and refresh my neurones by watching a poor sci-fi movie or a John Wayne movie of the 50’s ( he starred in a lot of very cheap films…) .

Director Roger Vadim’s AND GOD CREATED WOMAN is, in my concept, one of these movies you cannot neglect if you truly savor cinema. Not because Roger Vadim is an unknown genius but because of the actress who plays the main character : Brigitte Bardot. You simply have to occupy one of her movies in your library and since only three or four movies starring BB have passed with success the test of time, AND GOD CREATED WOMAN could be your first choice.

But remember that Roger Vadim was not Billy Wilder and that the french Marilyn Monroe had to count solely on her sex-appeal to attract the audience. And it level-headed works. Brigitte Bardot shot a lot of unpleasant movies, she was not, in my concept, a noble actress but she ignited the camouflage. She was a staunch Star. And I’m not ashamed to have this DVD in my library.

When I reviewed the previous Rapid Forward volume, I was relatively disappointed with how 4Kids had revamped the series to be lighter and funnier for the kiddies. Over time, I guess my attitude has softened. While Rapid Forward serene isn’t perfect, it’s a relatively inviting diversion. This second batch of episodes are stronger than the first, with Cody finally confronting his foul uncle and Shokonabo’s master concept coming to light. The Turtles graduate to the ninja level of Chunin, Torbin Zixx returns to play both sides, and conventional foes from the past purchase revenge.

Really, I’m almost a dinky shaded that Lickety-split Forward will be cancelled and retooled, presumably re-modeled after the successful TMNT cgi film. While a return to dim and gritty is better, the Lickety-split Forward notion was finally beginning to accept its groove. Hopefully the last episodes will be memorable, and leave Lickety-split Forward as more than a passing footnote in the Turtles’ history.

A lot of people have their gripes with TMNT: Snappy Forward, but I personally always supported the change since the beginning.

This Second situation of 13 episodes has a stronger feel, and a distinguished more progressive myth. Now that they have established a lot of the characters, they can account for a bit more about them, or unbiased form them further.

Some of the better episodes are “Head of Station”, “DNA is Thicker than Water”, “Zixxth Sense” and of course “The Day of Awakening”. one of the best (and possibly the funniest) things I perceive in these episodes is a particular Villain (not bishop) quiet lives!

I say, if you are a TMNT fan through and through, and you like or absorb the first 13 episodes . . . do yourself a favor and rob this DVD region! I am REALLY joyful I did.

The predictions surrounding the ominous date of December 21st, 2012 are plentiful and often a bit “freaky”. This video is a exquisite exception! We follow a personal chase of discovery across the USA as Sharron Rose gets in her car in the Northwest forests and ventures cross-country (and across time!) through attractive scenery and fabulous scenarios. Her travels are punctuated with discussions traversing mostly weird – and Moving – facts and theories based on small known historical artifacts, frail structures and writings of learned philosophers and religious adventurers. These well-respected scholars and writers divulge us to The Mysteries that have been “hidden”…which means that they simply have not been included in our mediocre educational system which typically focuses on the generic and mundane. After my first viewing, I immediately watched it again as it was filled with so great current information, I wanted to select more time to both understand these astonishing revelations and to let the beauty of the sure options for our collective future presented “sink in”. The quality of the film was outstanding and I fell in like with our guide Sharron. Having viewed MANY dvds featuring 2012 possibilities, I say this one is by far the best, especially for those who are fair discovering the 2012 “prophecies”. If there was ONE dvd on the 2012 phenomena to watch/buy…this is it!

For anyone who is deeply concerned about the future of the planet, I highly recommend this film.

Writer/director Sharron Rose, went out on a quest for the meaning and import underlying the prophesies around the year 2012. She interviewed many of the leading writers and experts on the subject and brought together their knowledge in a very deep and intriguing map, for they spoke of the profound changes that are coming for all of us from an colorful, spiritual and practical perspective. Whereas many of these type of documentaries focus on the horror factor, while it does not skirt the issues that are in front of us, 2012 The Odyssey puts them in a larger historical context and shows us that even though things may seem sunless and chaotic, there is light at the ruin of the tunnel and we need not despair. In fact, it is a very kind and hopeful film.

In addition to the suitable interviews, towards the destroy, the film unveils the message of the mysterious Georgia Guidestones. Probably built by the Masons, or could it be the Illuminati or Current World Order, this Stonehenge like monument offers a message for the future that is both unpleasant and titillating. As Sharron says, this message which is like some novel create of the Ten Commandments certainly gives one a lot to deem about.

From the depth of the interviews, to the meeting with the Inka Elders and their prophesy that a current species is being birthed, to the conception of the noosphere and the teachings of Teilhard de Charden, this film is packed pudgy of juicy information. I have watched it many times now with friends and family and every time I learn something original.

Although it moves like it came from the pages of a Tom Clancy techno-thriller new, it is really honest a terrific action film that pays great homage to the well-proven formulas of tremendous fable, speedily paced sequencing, and bankable stars. Nicole Kiddman does a true star turn in this one, showing she is a very versatile and saucy type, as well as a femme fatale. yet this really is George Clooney’s movie, one that shows he can safely leaves the environs of TV land for the silver cover for valid. Playing the allotment of a street-hardened dilapidated who understands the scheme the world works outside the Washington beltway, this is a Clooney tour-de-force!

He meets one’s expectations for an action hero easily, showing he can talk the talk and promenade the creep. When they need to derive information from a sophisticated European businessman-crook, Clooney first asks nicely, and then simply terrorizes him into giving them the information, advising Kiddman on the side that they unbiased don’t have the time to fool around with this guy. Shortly thereafter, he shows unprejudiced how crusty, clever and murderous he can be in one of the most imaginative car chases and plot of action scenes yet filmed in the streets of Vienna.

And the movie has barely begun to cook, with some terrific high-tech elements as well as trustworthy ragged fashoned skullduggery and suspense, as well, as the film reaches its climax and denouement in the streets of the Huge Apple. This is a resplendent film, one that is well traveled and extremely easy on the eyes. It is also plausible, given all that we have learned in the last year or so about the dangers that suround us. I can highly recommend this. Relish!

I never derive tired of seeing this movie. I’m so jubilant I bought the DVD. This is a model what an action-suspense-politcal thriller should be.

Basically Clooney and Kidman are trying to track down stolen nuclear warheads ripped off by a formenr Soviet general and for sale on the inaugurate market.

I can’t assume of anything I disliked about this movie. The spot was chilling, it made “Sum of all Fears” perceive like a kids cartoon in comparison. Clooney and Kidman had spectacular chemistry and played their parts to the hilt.

By the time you carry out this movie you’ll be out of breath. It has a nightmare inducing beginning, the most spectacular car traipse I’ve ever seen in a movie with Clooney ending it with a cool and hard achieve as I’ve ever seen. Look Kidman through this whole thing, her reactions are perfect.

Plus the terrorist villan was not some faceless unknown manic curved of gratuitious destruction. You actually felt for the villan, maybe even understood what drove and motivated him. What a mammoth change for the normal diagram these guys are portrayed in films.

The ending is pulse-pounding sorry to overuse that phrase but it fits perfectely. Not only that it was the most correct portrayal of defusing a bomb I’ve ever seen, it was truly edge-of-your-seat stuff. They did none of that “red wire – green wire” sillness you glance contrivance too often in films. This was realistic folks, possess me it was very authentic. So powerful so I can understand if the less technically oriented viewers would be confused with the climactic ending as to what actually happened. But it was realistic.

I rate this even a better film than Dismal Sunday, and for me thats saying a lot.

Heck I deem I’ll see it again later.
