I swore I would not commence this DVD until after seeing L. Cohen in Oakland the Monday after next. But I’m so delighted I broke my scream.

This is one of the most astonishing concerts I’ve ever seen captured on DVD.

The band and Leonard’s singers are excellent, and one senses that they feel as though they are a piece of something special.

The songs span nearly 40 years of a canon that is second to none.

Most astounding of all, though, is how a digital disc can gash through its hold technology and exude so powerful warmth and passion. Even when the camera shows a conclude shot of Cohen, one can detached sense the warmth, care for and admiration coming from the cheerful London audience.

As for Leonard Cohen…if he were to do nothing but philosophize, that would be enough given the astonishing breadth of material performed at this concert.

However, his gentle and trustworthy allege of the stage provides this indicate an added depth and dimension. Within the span of minutes he can be hilarious, self-deprecating, humble, poignant, appreciative…and I could easily go on with the superlatives to recount his on-stage demeanor.

Very often I perform a point of remembering to trust the art and not the artist. In the case of Leonard Cohen, I tend to trust both. His warmth seems well-behaved. Unlike so many of his stature, his humility comes across as dependable. His spoken words are every bit as noteworthy as those that are sung. Given the design that the barriers are broken down between the singer and the band and the audience…to the point where it feels as though they are all portion of one celebratory evening…such humility, graciousness and warmth cannot be anything but sterling.

The highlights are too many to mention: “Suzanne” sounds as unique as it did 40 years ago. “Anthem” sounds more urgent today than when it was first penned. “The Future” & “First We Capture Manahattan” are even more biting now in the 21st Century than when they were first penned. Cohen’s increased age gives songs such as “Boogie Street,” “Tower of Song,” & “Democracy” a world weariness that makes these songs all the more penetrating. His attractive “If It Be Your Will” sounds as remarkable like a prayer as it does one of the loveliest songs ever written. If I don’t halt now, I’ll wind up writing accolades about every song on this DVD. Yes, it is that extraordinary!

I’ve been fortunate to look so many of the greats in my lifetime – legends whose works will be remembered for decades to arrive. Some have been surly and stand-offish. Others have been appreciative and welcoming toward their audience.

It is refreshing to watch the best of everything embodied in this Leonard Cohen concert. Songs that are amongst the best ever written, detached performed with a passion (as well as with the added wisdom that comes from Cohen being 74 years young), with a band & audience & singer all equally committed to one another.

There are moments when I laughed out loud at Leonard’s deadpan, wry humor. There were times when tears welled in my eyes from the sincerity of the words that came out of his mouth, either spoken or in song.

In a day and age where so distinguished seems packaged and perfunctionary, it is refreshing to perceive & hear someone such as Cohen whose observations can warm the heart or chop like a knife to procure to the heart of a matter. He is the trusty deal. No airs, no faux modesty…fair a man with four decades’ worth of majestic material, with an suited band whose respect for Cohen is reciprocated by their singer with his respect for their talents & abilities, along with a suitable warmth & sense of humanity that allows Leonard Cohen to turn a vast London venue into a setting that is as intimate as being in one’s living room.

Without a doubt, one of the finest, most titillating and most satisfying concert DVDs I’ve ever seen.

I’m elated that I opened this prior to April 13. Seeing this makes me perceive forward to seeing Cohen in a itsy-bitsy Oakland theater even more so than I already was.

However, had I not been fortunate enough to have gotten a price for his upcoming concert, I have to say that this DVD would have been a more than beautiful consolation. It is worth every cent. The staging, lighting, musicianship, song selection and sound are painstakingly stellar, obviously given large care & distinguished concept.

This is a proper gem, a most proper representation of one of the greatest songwriters of our time.

This is exquisite worthy a bare bones DVD featuring extended London concert footage. I have no beef with the camera work. It is simple, but effective, and grand preferable to so many concert videos where the camera moves so worthy and cuts from one angle to the next occur so fleet it threatens to give one vertigo, or at least a headache.

The choice of 4:3 aspect ratio, in an era where even run-of-the-mill TV shows are widescreen, is inexplicable. The video quality is righteous, but not substantial.

The audio could have been better. Happily, an uncompressed LCPM stereo track is available (the default) on the DVD, which should gain for maximum sound quality. But the disc producers chose to muck this up, too. The sound is dynamically compressed, i.e. the soft parts are made loud so the dynamic disagreement between soft and loud is blunted. When the band gets going fat blast, the sound is congested — it loses some clarity. Nevertheless, I would rate the sound as generous, not tremendous — equivalent in sound quality to a musical segment on the Letterman reveal or Tonight Exhibit on digital TV.

The concert is enormous, and Leonard is elephantine of warmth and grit, whatever is called for. Leonard Cohen appears to be having the time of his life, and the band is perfect. His angelic choir, a trio of female backup singers, is splendid. The guitarist provides Knopfler-esque lead lines, and his “wind instrument” and keyboard players add richness to the mix.

This is the perfect introduction to Leonard Cohen. It represents his best compositions (though I am disappointed that Joan of Arc is not allotment of the state list) . At age 74 Cohen’s disclose is a bit husky, but these performances are as beneficial as any I’ve ever heard on his studio albums or live material. (Granted, I do not have a tremendous collection of Cohen albums, however I enjoy very mighty his songs, including those performed by other artists.) It’s hard to imagine him ever topping this.

If you are strange with Leonard Cohen’s music, it is generally quite simple, with celebrated chord progressions and easy melodies. You might snappily gather yourself singing along with these tunes. Cohen’s strengths are his poetry and his delivery of the poetic line. He has always loved embellishing the simplicity of the songs with female choruses and fuller arrangements, while the structure retains the essence of folk music. Sometimes he favors a Spanish rhythm.

For me, this is the definitive Leonard Cohen live performance, noteworthy as Joni Mitchell’s Shadows and Light concert DVD highlights her best songs and best performances a with dream team band. That DVD is also deficient technically, but the music shines through. So it is here. It’s a five star concert with one star deducted for technical quality that does not measure up to the artistry of the performance.

This is a astronomical workout that can grow with you as your strength and stamina accomplish. This workout is probably too intense for the correct beginner, but would provide an grand workout for the advanced beginner to intermediate exerciser. There are 3 separate workouts (called Levels) that progress in exertion. Level 1 lasts 20 minutes and consists of an interval workout that mixes cardio with strength moves that work the upper and lower body simultaneously. Level 2 is 15 minutes and has more engrossing moves such as squat thrusts, jumping pushups, tricep dips with a leg lifts and one-arm pushups. This fraction has some high impact moves, so be prepared to jump. Fortunately, Heba and Vicky demonstrate shameful impact versions, so you don’t ever have to jump if you don’t want to. Finally, Level 3 is 10 minutes and focuses on strength moves to really expend the muscles and add definition. A warm-up and cool-down are included. The stretching piece is trustworthy. Bob doesn’t really do the moves, but he coaches and helps the contestants beget worthy perform.

You can customize your workout by selecting which levels you want to do and the order you want to do them at the beginning of you workout. You can do each level once, more than once or not at all. Or you can determine the Maximum Results program which has preset selections based on how many weeks you’ve been doing the program.

Equipment Needed: Hand Weights, Resistance Band, Medicine Ball (however the band and ball are optional and the moves are also shown without them)

Things That Could Be Improved: My only complaint is that sometimes the contestants performing the workout don’t always expose the best beget, and will sometimes randomly do their absorb thing. Your best bet is to follow Allie if you want to do the proceed correctly. Heba shows modifications to form the workout easier if you are unprejudiced starting out. The moves are simple and easy to follow, so you can do this workout even if you aren’t dapper coordinated.

Overall: This is a broad workout that will really improve your fitness level and succor to beget strength and agility. It uses proven techniques such as interval training and plyometrics, and Bob is a motivating instructor. This is how they really workout on the ranch. Savor and hope you accept astronomical results!

I not only believe the other Biggest Loser dvds, but do my daily workout from a selection of about 100 dvds. Quiet, this was a “must have” to add to my collection…as that was my first concept after doing it.

I’ve always found Bob to be one of the best motivators. He doesn’t unbiased do a travel that you follow and travel on, he shows you as a coach how to do it correctly so that you score maximum assist from it.

This dvd is both cardio and sculpting and this creates maximum rotund burning…you’ll burn lots of calories during the cardio portions, then the sculpting will support you increase muscle mass which, thereby, increases your metabolism and burns even more calories even while you are at rest.

Even if you fill the other Biggest Loser workouts, this one adds unique moves, recent people, more variety and colossal results.

I typically rotate all my workouts so that I have constant variety from my collection but I found myself continually going wait on to this dvd time and again and help to wait on.

Therefor, it needed to recieve some accolades via Amazon…Bob succeeded once again with a “must have” workout that all can do!

And, on that label, it should be well-known whether you workout daily like myself or you are fair beginning, he has moves for either class of fitness persona. You can follow along with the easy program, or go tubby steam once you improve…either design, the moves are easy to follow and construct mercurial results.

Love this display, too. I wasn’t certain how it was supposed to work after the pilot but it really did. The stories are obliging, the dialogues witty, quick-witted and to the point, the characters are exciting and the mix of comedy, thriller & action is very well balanced.

Season 2 is being shot april-october so the first unique episodes will air in summer, by the diagram.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Leverage: The First Season! Click Here

The seasons are shorter than usual, somewhere between 12 and 16 episodes I fill, but the budget must be as immense as for 22 episodes because each on feels like a petite blockbuster. So for those of you who missed the present so far, win it ASAP!!!

This series features a new day Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men — or in this case, men and women — pulling off cons, capers, and heists that redress wrongs, return ill-gotten gains to their rightful owners, and also pad the pockets of our heroes.

Though it’s tempting to focus on the helpful cast, who do a uniformly stellar job with the scripts, the greatest strength of this exhibit is in the writing. The stories are focused as considerable on revelation and development of the characters and their histories and interactions as on the clever and racy plots. The characters are given depth and dimension — not to mention humor — and the viewer finds as remarkable to care about in each of them as in how the caper of the week will play out.

Robin Williams stars as an English teacher who doesn’t fit into the conservative prep school where he teaches, but whose charisma and love of poetry inspires several boys to revive a secret society with a bohemian bent. The script is well meaning but a little trite, though director Peter Weir (The Truman Show) adds layers of emotional depth in scenes of conflict between the kids and adults. (A subplot involving one father’s terrible pressure on his son–played by Robert Sean Leonard–to drop his interest in theater reaches heartbreaking proportions.) Williams is given plenty of latitude to work in his brand of improvisational humor, though it is all well-woven into his character’s style of instruction. –Tom Keogh
