I was hoping to feel some expansive disagreement in my body by doing this workout, but unfortunatly did not. If you are fresh to the firm or excersise this may be the tag for you, it does have alot of fun moves and it is short enough to support you coming assist. As a firm believer it comes nowhere arrive the level of intensity of the transfirmer box, or the more current DVD’s with their high energy cardio I appreciate. The claims about attractive your core on the wave may be suitable but I personally did not gaze any astronomical inequity. Please don’t capture this the unsuitable arrangement because i admire the firm objective not this unique system.
In the last six months I was diagnosed with a condition that prevents me from doing intense cardio ( I have sarcoidosis and a tumor in my lung) . I bought the Firm Wave as an alternative workout, being unable to urge or do an ellipitical machine. The program guarantees results in 10 workouts. I am fair on my 7th and have lost 2 inches off my bust, 2 off my waist and 1 run off my hips. I luxuriate in the program and the variety.I also cherish the calendar included, telling you which workout to do on what day and the meal suggestion idea.

On the downside, I do assume the warm ups are design too expeditiously to bag the moves down immediately. I wish they would have taken things at a slower spin (Hence the 4 star rating, not 5) If you stick with the workouts, you will accumulate on. My approved disc is the run slimming sculpt. I also like the Rock your Buns Off disc that you catch separately. You will need light weights to create the workout. I am almost 40 yrs. weak and this program has given me hope that I can net my body benefit. All in all, it is a nice at home workout that is cheaper than a gym membership.

What’s this? A fresh “Nightmare Before Christmas” DVD package? Actually there are three versions: this two-disc station that includes a downloadable digital copy, a Blu-ray version, and a collector’s edition that comes with a bust of Jack Skellington with a detachable Sandy Claus beard and hat.
Though this version is billed as a two-disc space, it actually has three discs. The third one contains the digital copy. An instruction sheet spells out in definite steps how to download the file to an iPod or similar method.

The movie itself is a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination. A savory witches’ brew of stop-motion animation, catchy exhibit tunes and a seriously warped creative license, it always stays factual to its timeless message: to be blissful, be yourself. Devilishly nonconformist, it’s an enduring holiday musical for the whole Addams family.
Well, almost. Though all of its awe gags are played entirely for laughs, some of the imagery is downright creepy, especially for puny children. Anyone older than say, 6, however, should savor every slight. Teenagers will esteem it.
The yarn — the citizens of Halloweentown attempt to annex neighboring Christmastown — comes from the macabre mind of producer Tim Burton, who wrote it in his spare time (as a poem!) while working as a Disney animator in the 1980s. The movie blends the tastiest bits of Burton’s earlier Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands with a sprinkling of the stop-motion magic first found in Disney’s 1961 Babes in Toyland.
The imaginative cast of characters includes:
* Pumpkin King Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon), a waggish misfit who believes his purpose in life is to merge the holidays of Halloween and Christmas.
* Jack’s faithful dog Zero, a ghost with a stunning, jack-o’-lantern nose who, like the hound in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, eventually pulls a sleigh
* Rag-doll heroine Sally (voiced by Catherine O’Hara), Jack’s cherish interest, who sews herself benefit together when she loses a body part
* Oogie Boogie (Broadway venerable Ken Page), a slimy, singing bag of bugs who channels the cartoon version of Cab Calloway in the used Betty Boop cartoons
* Lock (Paul “Pee-Wee Herman” Reubens), Shock (O’Hara) and Barrel (Danny Elfman, the film’s composer), a trio of unfavorable trick-or-treaters who “kidnap the Sandy Claws”
* Wheelchair-bound unsuitable scientist Dr. Finklestein (William Hickey), a duckbilled quack whose flip-top head lets him scratch his brains for inspiration
* A mayor (Glenn Shadix, the interior director Otho in Beetlejuice) who is literally two-faced.
Blessed with the ability to bring adult minds support to child’s level, Burton dwells in gloomy mischief. In fact, some of Nightmare’s best scenes include the kidnapping of Santa Claus and Jack’s hilarious attempt to replace him on Christmas Eve, when the skeleton gleefully delivers presents such as tree-devouring snakes and severed, shrunken heads.
Director Henry Selick painstakingly created the film over three years. Though he had a production crew of over 100, each diminutive of footage took a week, as each second required 24 ever-so-slightly different shots.
BONUS FEATURES
This 2-disc DVD package has a nice collection of extras:
* An audio commentary with Burton, Selick and Elfman.
* A downloadable digital copy of the film, which you can transfer to an iPod or similar scheme.
* Burton’s first short, 1982’s 6-minute “Vincent,” a black-and-white stop-action film about a boy who dreams of being Vincent Imprint, who narrates.
* Burton’s 1994 Disney live-action short “Frankenweenie.” This 30-minute black-and-white film re-imagines the Frankenstein narrative as the legend of a young boy and his car-struck pet dog in suburban America. A recently taped introduction by Burton shows some working sketches being faded for his full-length version now in development.
* A reading of Burton’s unique “Nightmare Before Christmas” poem by actor Christopher Lee
* A promotional film for the annual “Nightmare” makeover of Disneyland’s Stunned Mansion.
* Promotional and making-of featurettes, a storyboard to film comparison, deleted scenes and theatrical trailers and posters
If you deem the best movies are the ones that present you a world you’ve never envisioned before, then you will Treasure Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. A benchmark in stop-motion animation, this incredibly difficult-to-make film (24 individually posed frames were needed to develop ONE SECONDS’s worth of action) is a masterpiece of art direction, site beget, and fine customary storytelling. The dwelling revolves around Jack, the Pumpkin King of Halloween, and his attempt to hasten Christmas in station of Santa Claus. “Sleigh” becomes confused with “waste”; “stockings” become “stalkings”; and spirits go from joyous to ghostly as the two holidays clash together like oil and water, or fire and ice. One of the vast surprises of the movie is that although it dances around material that could easily careen into cynicism, it remains refreshingly sweet and light throughout. Which is not to say that some of the comedy isn’t a dinky dim and perhaps geared more towards older children and adults; for example, the brief scene in which a python puppet is shown swallowing a Christmas tree whole is hysterically humorous, but not especially appropriate for the very young.

The special edition DVD is unquestionably the version of this classic to steal. Included are a wealth of extras: the teaser and theatrical trailers; a documentary on “The Making of …”; deleted scenes and storyboards, etc, etc. The best bonuses are two short films by Burton: “Vincent”, a poetic tribute to the beautiful Vincent Heed, narrated by the subject himself; and “Frankenweenie”, a canine send-up of “Frankenstein”, starring Shelley Duvall, Daniel Stern, and a cast of talented character actors. This DVD is one that you can use HOURS exploring happily! Highly recommended as both a Halloween and Christmas treat.

Not a sequl, per se, to the 2004 feature Walking Tall with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (which in itself was only loosely based on the real-life story of Southern lawman Buford Pusser), this by-the-books actioner stars Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) as another taciturn tough guy who faces down small-town corruption with determination and a very big stick. Sorbo plays a former elite soldier who returns to his small Texas hometown to discover that his sheriff father has been murdered by a cadre of nefarious types (led by tattooed heel A.J. Buckley), and with the help of a comely FBI agent (Yvette Nipar), he takes up his father’s badge and takes on the bad guy with a particularly large piece of hickory as his main weapon. Sorbo is a likely action star, though he lacks the charm of The Rock (or the downhome grit of Joe Don Baker and Bo Svenson, who played Pusser in the ’70s feature and its sequls), and the story is doggedly formulaic in its march to a showdown conclusion. The action, however, is plentiful, and should provide a passing distraction for viewers seeking some testosterone-heavy thrills. — Paul Gaita

The Return of Spinal Tap is based around Tap’s performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 1992. In between the footage of Messrs. St. Hubbins, Tufnel, and Smalls performing in front of a huge crowd enthusiastically determined to go along with the joke, there are clips purporting to investigate the band’s humble origins in the East London suburb of Squatney, and updates from “rockumentary” director Marty DiBergi and hapless record plugger Artie Fufkin from the original movie. It is the latter component that is the real strength of Return. Though the concert footage faithfully rehashes many of the film’s most treasured jokes (the malfunctioning props, the dancing midgets), the real satirical strength of This Is Spinal Tap was never its treatment of heavy metal music (which, after all, is hardly a difficult target). What the first movie did best was illuminate the egomania, paranoia, delusion, and stupidity that are the cornerstones of rock & roll as it is lived. The Return of Spinal Tap is a worthy companion piece. –Andrew Muller
