The HP210 / 211 / 212 / 214 could have been a truly great product. (They’re all the same product: the different numbers indicate the channel and country; i.e., 210 US – Consumer, 214 – Asia, etc.) But it has a few shortcomings that, in my opinion, reduce it to an average product that should be considered carefully.

First, I am a big fan of PDAs and so-called smartphones and have been using them for years. None of them are perfect. In fact, most of them are far from perfect. In recent years the smartphone category, combining the cellular phone, the PDA and a camera, has really taken off. The standalone PDA is probably an endangered species and the HP211 could be the last of its kind. The emergence of the mini-laptop like the Asus Eee and Fujitsu U810 may, in fact, be the final nails in the coffin of the standalone PDA which I think would be a pity.

HP did a lot of things right with the HP211.

The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Photos and videos shine forth in all their glory. Glare from the screen surface has not been a problem. I have not tested it in direct sunlight, but it holds up well in bright daylight. The screen does require a fairly strong touch, but it is something you become accustomed to fairly quickly. Scrolling, however, in Internet Explorer seems to somewhat difficult. You have to apply firm pressure which the device may be interpreting as repeated taps. Something makes navigation in IE more difficult than it has to be.

For those who use the inking capability, once you get the touch done, it is a great experience. The Marvell processor is fast enough to make inking a delight. If you use an onscreen keyboard like TenGo, you’ll be well impressed with how responsive the screen is and how fast your input can be.

Overall, the CPU powers the device with lots of horses to spare. And it is wonderful to have all that memory available, knowing as well that you can add humongous SDHC and CF cards as well. The idea that you can add 32GB of memory with 16GB card in each slot is mindblowing.

WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities are excellent.

The four function buttons are well placed and can be reprogrammed to meet your needs. On left side is another button that starts the recording function. The on/off switch is mounted on the front near the top right corner. While it hasn’t happened to me, I am afraid it can be depressed accidentally, but the auto shutdown should render that moot even if it happens.

The D-pad is a major drawback and could be a dealbreaker for a lot of people. The designers lopped off the top of the D-pad. It is smaller than the right/left and down pads and, mounted just below the screen bezel, feels funny. It is also difficult to toggle precisely which is frustrating. As I use it more, it seems to be becoming more natural, but I consider it a dumb design move. I would strongly suggest that prospective owners either try it in a store or buy from a vendor with an excellent return policy.

The other major flaw – and this could be a deal-killer for a lot of people is the speaker arrangement. There are two speakers, but they do not work together at the same time. The front one is used only, as far as I know, with Skype. It has just barely adequate volume in a quiet room. If there’s any kind of noise, forget it. By the way, the HP211 works very well with Skype.

The rear speaker is just plain horrible. It is inaudible even in a quiet room. It is unusable for playing back voice recordings and trying to use it for music or audio tracks on movies is unthinkable. You can also whistle goodbye to using it for voice prompts for GPS. In a unit this expensive, this design flaw is inexcusable. Making matters worse is that the headphone jack – which is, thankfully, a standard 3.5mm – is located on the bottom of the unit. I haven’t tried it with Bluetooth headphones. one of the big pluses of a standalone PDA like this to me is the recording capability for quick notes. But if I can’t hear them playing back without headphones, what good is it? Another reason for a standalone with Bluetooth is GPS. Obviously, you want GPS with voice prompts. But if you can’t hear the voice prompts, what good is it?

Considering HP’s legendary engineering, I am surprised these flaws made it into the final product, but they did and I think they greatly reduce the appeal of the product.

The unit is pretty big, which I appreciate because I want an ample writing surface and I have big hands. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the surfaces are all slippery plastic. If you intend to use this unit without a case, I suspect it will become a casualty within a matter of days. Overall, the construction feels a little on the cheap side. Not awful, but it doesn’t feel very robust either.

My primary reason for wanting a standalone PDA is to have a way (other than pen and paper) to take notes throughout the day. The HP211 fills this role well. I primarily use PhatNotes and TenGo. The HP211 screen provides an excellent inking experience with no vectoring problems. The stock Windows Mobile Notes and other applications and the letter recognizer also work well. It’s a joy to have a ton of memory with the ability to expand to previously unheard of dimensions. The screen is a marvelous platform for viewing photos or videos. (The CPU, by the way, doesn’t have quite enough ooomph to play video back smoothly. Using TCMP, I had lots of dropped frames.)

If I were ranking the device very narrowly, I would give it 5 stars without hesitation and then take 1 star away for the price, which I think is too high. Thus a net 4 stars. Because of the D-pad design and, in particular, the utterly useless audio, I can give it only 3 stars. Considering the high price in conjunction with these defects and I have to strongly urge that anyone considering this device consider it very, very carefully. One of the reasons I prefer Windows Mobile devices is the wide array of software available for them. The main reason for buying the HP211, on my part, was the large screen, which is admittedly much easier to work with than the one on my smartphone.

But at $400+ for the HP, there are alternatives and I suggest that they be considered. The Nokia N800 is less than half the price and provides WiFi, web browsing and email. The screen is great, though converting video for the N8*0 is dicey. The N800 offers SDHC expansion capability. The N810 adds a sliding keyboard. And both have a rudimentary camera which the HP211 should have, but doesn’t. The big drawback to the N8*0 devices? They’re Linux and apps are still relatively scarce.

On the whole, I think the HP211 is well suited for a notetaking function and moderately well suited for web browsing when Opera is installed. It is an adequate video platform. But the built-in speakers simply stink. The headphone jack is inconveniently placed and the D-pad is something of a design disaster.

The big problem is that there just aren’t that many standalone PDAs out there running Windows Mobile 6 with a ton of memory and a great 4″ screen. At half the price, I’d live with the problems. At $400+, though, I’m still wondering about it. My smartphone does everything the HP211 does: it’s just smaller and more difficult to work on. Is the convenience worth $400+? I’m not sure yet, but am tilting toward saying “no”.

Jerry

I’ve been using Windows Mobile and Windows CE products for almost 10 years. I’ve owned the 4700, 2595 and now the 211. My wife has the 110. I use these devices extensively and have an entire workflow planned around it. It goes everywhere with me. My requirements are such that a converged device doesn’t provide much use to me: processor usually too weak, memory too little, and definitely the screen too small.

I bought the 211 about a month ago. Here are my impressions:

- My first reaction was “BIG!”. It is bigger than all my other devices. It’s thick, more so than the 4700. The weight is ok, though. I don’t think about the size any more. I’ve gotten used to it.

- The screen does require more pressure to operate, but again, I’m used to it now and it’s forgotten. I haven’t noticed different pressure reactions on different screen locations.

- The screen is perfect. To address previous comments about being able to see more stuff: I scan all my documents and commit to PDF. Everything. Then I sync to the 211’s SD card. I have a lightweight PDF reader, and I can read PDFs easily without scrolling horizontally. I can’t come close to doing that with my wife’s 110, or my 2495. Yes, you can fit much more on the screen, and it’s much much sharper than any other device. Yes, the unit takes advantage of the higher resolution: it’s not just bigger pictures on a bigger screen, honestly. Having said that, it’s up to the application to do that. Most do.

- I have *not* noticed any negative performance difference between this and my previous devices. It’s as fast as my 2495 and my wife’s 110.

- I have approximately 30 applications(!) on it. None have had compatibility issues. And because of the impressive amount of memory, I still have approxiamtely 55% of storage memory left.

- Yes, there’s a proprietary cable for sync and power. However, there’s also a mini-USB port, so the proprietary cables aren’t necessary at all. I don’t travel with them. I only use a retractable mini-USB for charging and synchronization. It’s really not an issue.

- Battery life is better than the 4700 and the 2495.

- I love the buttons. I honestly don’t understand the criticisms I have read about them. I’m happy.

- Bluetooth and WiFi have worked without any issues. My only complaint here is for WM6: it can’t connect to my work WiFi network because WM6 doesn’t support WPA enterprise.

Sorry for the rambling review. Just wanted to give my opinion on issues raised here. It’s the perfect device for my requirements: no converged phone/PDA, and I don’t need a camera. BTW, my employer gave me a 8525. I don’t use it at all. It simply can’t do what the 211 does.

got this “monster” this week

the first feeling is “HUGE”, my hand can hold it because I have big palm

the screen is eye candy, 4″ VGA can make a quite difference, the color is very good, not “yellowish” like other HP products, the screen looks dark when the backlight is off, however, it’s pretty viewable under sunlight

the buttons and d-pad are pretty comfortable to press, but up direction of d-pad is a little bit difficult to press because the bottom of screen frame, the arragement is

calendar/contacts (I changed to IE/File Explorer)

Start button (cannot to be changed)

OK and minimize/? (I changed ? to Bluetooth Manager

messaging (not changed)

the application is typical WM, but HP signature application “iTask” is no longer exist, which I can shut down an application with ease, it doesn’t have ipaq backup

Monster Chinese users must read, you must use version 5.3, ver 6.0 will mess up the machine, cause it unable to boot, requires factory reset

all jacks are located on the bottom, even headphones jack, that you may want to use wireless headphones instead, luckily, the updated bt is alot more stable, almost no skip/interruption on a2dp; you can almost forget the new data port, the miniUSB can do both async and charging (1A or higher USB charger is highly recommended, the included AC adaptor has supplied charging adaptor to the data port)

the unit speed is OK, slow down a bit when a2dp is active, video is decent, with TCPMP, no slowdown on mpeg (ripped directly from VCD), Divx is fine (VGA @30fps), wmv has some hiccup

the battery is OK, VGA can use good amount of power, it is recommended to setup screeen auto-off to save power, I tested with Pocket Player, play 160-192kbps ogg vorbis, got around 7 hours when bt a2dp is active

this unit has 2 memory card slots, I put 16GB CF (A-Data) and 16GB SD-HC (A-Data), both work 100%

RF on wifi and bt is pretty impressive, can get signal easily, and give wireless headphones more range (though it’s not good as class 1 bt)

this unit is a big leap from HX2495 and X51v, HX4705 users will find similar pleasure with this unit

I give 95%

pro:

HUGE VGA screen, buttons are comfortable to press, 2200mA/h battery (you can use HX4705 battery), miniUSB port, stable bt, good RF

con:

weak speaker, headphones jack is located on the bottom, no cradle included, kinda bulky

The Dewalt D51256K is the third fininsh nailer that I have used. This one is by far the most adjustable, stable and easy to use. It has a larger magazine capacity than any other that I am aware of. The PSI needs do not require the compressor to continually cycle. It is easy to angle into tight corners and I have not had any misfires. I recommend this item to anyone that wants a dependable and easy to use fininsh nailer. You will not go wrong with this unit.

I bought this gun with high hopes and have had some pretty frustrating work days because of it. The first time out of the kit I tried to use it and got nothing but misfires, double nails, no fires and jams. I took it to the guys I bought it from and they found the driver was put in the wrong direction, so back to work I went. Well when I tried to use 2.5″ nails it does nothing but miss fire and jamb. I have spent more time in the last two days re-shooting the base moulding then I have anything else. I took it in to the shop again today and had them look at it and of course it works just fine at 120 psi, but when the compressor kicks in at 90 how is it going to be working??? Not really sastified with the gun, DeWalt has some great features like the depth adjustment, and the tool-free jamb clearing, trigger lock and belt hook, but I think they still need to do some work one the driver assembly. I wish I could say I have had such good luck like the other reviewers, but at least I know there is one other carpenter who I have spoke with that has has the same troubles I have.

I’ve had this nailer for about a year and a half. I have used nails from 2″ to 1 1/4″, and have had no problems. The gun is light, smooth, and easy to adjust. I even use it to make cabinets, and it works flawlessly. I’ve never used other brands, so I can’t compare, but I am definetely glad I chose this one.

I have recently bought a left and right channel of these LSi 15s and I paired them with my Martin Logan Aeon i speakers. The LSi 15s hold there own with the Martin Logans, which cost 3 times as much. The MLs are a little more transparent and have a crisper high end, but not by much. When you play the LSi 15s you are listening to one of the best speaker bargains on the market today. Well made and designed. They are a beautiful speaker as well. When you listen to the MLs and the LSi 15s at the same time the sound is awesome and they complement each other very well. I know it sounds hard to believe but it’s true. Speaker placement is critical for both speakers. If you follow the manufactures recommendations placement is fairly easy. You should have a fairly powerful amp at least 90 watts to really get the most from them. The only negative about the LSi 15s is the spikes and feet. This is a minor concern.

you can get a pair of these from a certain auction website for $1100 with a factory warranty. yay.

I own and use both a Toshiba Satellite notebook for windows applications and a Macbook Pro for apple applications (I prefer a separate windows machine over rebooting into boot camp and also for the additional hard drive space for my multimedia applications).

Recently I saw the netbooks at a local department store, and asked myself why I would want one. The reasons boiled down to:

1. Long battery life.

2. Portability.

3. Light-weight.

4. Ability to play Netflix on-demand movies.

5. Ability to play Real Arcade games (or similar web-based games).

6. Solid build.

7. Somewhat decent speakers for listening to Rhapsody or other subscription based music programs.

8. Responsive speed for Microsoft Word 2003 (not 2007).

9. Chatting with my children who are away at college.

I then went on a week-long research into the different machines, read the reviews, played with them at the store, typing to see which one would fit my large hands, listening to the sound, picking them up to see how they felt in my hand, and how much they weighed. I didn’t care if they had the Atom N270 or N280 processor as long as they met my criteria listed above. At first, I didn’t care if the 10.1″ screen was at 1024 x 600 or 1366 x 768. But after a bit, I began to prefer the 1024 x 600 resolution over the reduced, but sharp, images of the 1366 x 768. With the 1024 x 600, I didn’t have to get close to the screen to see what was being displayed. And since I have a tendency to write short paragraphs when composing my next trash-can masterpiece, I preferred seeing part of the page of Microsoft Word over the whole page.

I finally settled on the Samsung Go (Midnight Blue) mainly due to form and the fact that I like Midnight Blue. And the reviews I read seemed to indicate that it would meet all the criteria I listed above.

The first thing I noticed when I lifted the unit out of the box was the way it felt. It has a slight rubber feel to it, and it was a little heavier than (as my wife pointed out) her Macbook Air. But for what I was used to carrying around, it felt great. The keyboard was also large enough for comfortable typing, although, I kept hitting the “=” key instead of the “Back Space” key when I want to correct my spelling errors. This is something that I know I’ll get used to — not correcting spelling errors — but learning where the keys are when I am typing on a smaller keyboard.

The first thing I did was charge the battery up to 100% as instructed. It didn’t take long as the battery already had a charge when I received the unit. I then begin to redownload my Real Arcade games to test them out. So far Luxor 3 and Rebound Lost Worlds have run like a charm. I also installed Starcraft, and didn’t have, or expected, any problems running it. I installed Yahoo Messenger and chatted with my children. Made a YouTube video with the included CyberCam. Installed and played around with Microsoft Office 2003 Professional without any problems. I watched two Netflix movies and noticed only a slight stutter in some frames, probably due to the wireless connection (how far I was from the router). When I plugged in the Ethernet cable from the router, I had no problems at all watching the movies. But it wasn’t enough of a performance difference that I wouldn’t be just as satisfied watching movies using only the wireless connection.

All in all I’m quite pleased with the purchase, and am happy that I selected this netbook as my first netbook.

Now to my only quibble, and it isn’t really much, but the sound is…well…tinny. But with headphones, it is quite nice and bearable. I installed SRS Audio for additional enhancement, and although it helped some, for a netbook, I felt it was the best I could do. For watching YouTube videos or chatting or casual game playing without headphones, the audio is adequate. And since I wasn’t expecting an audiophile experience when I bought the Samsung Go, I am more than pleased with what sound quality it musters.

So far, my rating is five stars. If anything changes, I’ll come back and revamp my review.

And one last thing — the battery life is amazing. I have seen five hours so far, and I keep running the cursor over the battery icon to see how much more battery life is left. It’s more than enough battery life for my portable needs.

I can’t express how happy I am with this product. The battery easily lasts 9 hours in battery saver mode, probably 6 or so in regular mode, which to me is great. The keyboard with raised keys is cool and easy to type on even with my slightly big hands. The glossy screen i thought would bother me but it’s quite beautiful. It is not only aesthetically pleasing, but the casing is very durable and has a good strong feel especially for such a light machine. All in All, I think this computer is awesome.

This Product is better than any other netbook compare by the design, I’ve notice it has Surround and WOW sound system. The sound system can bring more bass as default and echo setting for headset plug. The Picture will be bright, but you can fix the settings. The battery system control option like 80% charge setting to Increase your battery life and that a cool feature. We all know li-ion loses its battery power 15 to 25% after a year. also, the keyboard is fairly close to a regular keyboard length which that is a plus for me. The battery which is 8850mah that includes giving that boost so the cooling will be better. Great Buy, I wonder why other store had not shown this product as display but its worth not seeing it until you own it. Netbook has Webcam that runs smooth. Im still using 1GB about to upgrade to 2 GB, But it still runs smooth after installing word 07 default mcafee antivirus. yeah This is awesome Netbook,With nice texture and nice feel that it wont seem to slip off your hand easier. Love the Design, compare to other mini Sony and hp.

My 4 star rating is based on not really having any other HVLP spray unit for comparison. I like this unit quite well. The Mini Mite 4 turbine. is noisy, while I do not have the ability to measure db levels, I would rate it about the same in noise to my DW735 13″ planner(loud). You definitely need hearing protection if you are going to operate the turbine anywhere close to where you will be spraying.

So far all I have used it for is latex enamel and it sprayed just fine. The spray gun has three different controls that will control the width of the spray pattern. The nozzle itself can be screwed in or out which offers basic width control, additional control can be obtained by adjusting the airflow where the hose connects (a quick release coupling) to the gun, and by adjusting the needle itself. Just in my initial testing, I was able to get the spray width down to approximately 1″. Using the four stage MM4 turbine and the standard tip included, it handled latex thined about 15%, I did not try unthinned latex.

The standard color cup holds enough paint for smaller projects, such as an end table or coffee table, a large chest would probably require a refill (or two) during use. The spray gun is easy to clean, remove the cup, pour whatever paint is remaining out and fill part way with an appropriate thinner (I used water for latex) and spray the thinners cleaning the paint flow channel. Repeat as necessary.

I bought this unit when Amazon had their 20% off sale. It is the same thing as the Q-4 PRO Quiet version, same motor, same fan, gun and hose except you save over $200! It says the PRO is much quieter. Yes it may be but the MINI is not that noisy, about the same as a shop-vac. Besides, I made the mistake of putting the fan unit inside my spray booth (read garage) and got atomized finish all over the motor unit. I tried to clean the unit with solvents and the logo dissolved right off – what a mess! Not to mention the sponge filter clogs much faster, because it’s trying to suck in dirty air. Now I put the unit outside the garage where the air is clean and if I shut the door half way, I don’t hear the unit that much.

As far as the sprayer goes, it’s construction is solid and performs well. Much better than the mid level HVLP conversion (compressor) sprayer I used to use. The conversion gun required so many adjustments to get the desired flow, it was purely a frustrating experience. Each time I use the darned thing I get inconsistent results. Lord knows how many times I had to sand down to bare wood so I can re-finish the work again and again (read angry clients).

With the MINI-MITE 4 all I do is fill it with the material, turn one nozzle to fine tune, test and spray away. Now I can spend more time on spraying than setting up the gun. For easy clean up I line the cup with a zip-lock sandwich bag (make sure your finish material and cleaning solvent does not dissolve the plastic bag, also make sure the lid lock is cranked tight to ensure no leakage). Any remaining material left over can be soaked with paper towel, zipped and tossed. Line again with zip lock, put some cleaning solvent and clean the gun. Zip, toss and you’re done. To further ease clean up I covered the hose with a plastic sleeve. The local hardware store sells poly-vinyl sleeves for plumbing??? for about $.42 a foot. Snake the hose through the plastic and tape the ends. Done, no more messy finish on the hose.

Get this unit you will love it. Not only that, you will never go back to conversion HVLPs any more.

Note: if you are looking at the 3 stage units, pay a few extra and get the 4 stage you will not regret it.

Outstanding product. Great bang for the buck compared to the Fuji Q4. This system also has a 4 stage turbine (the same as the Q4 I believe) but for about $200 bucks less than the Q4. Use the savings to purchase the 6 foot whip hose and the 3 mini cup set and you’re still ahead well over $100. Fuji Industrial Spray Equipment 6-Foot Flexible Whip Hose #2049FFuji Industrial Spray Equipment Mini-Cup Set, 3-Piece #9080I highly recommend these accessories. The unit is about as loud as a shop vac and still quieter than most shop equipment, but I use only for short periods at a time and wear ear protection so the exra noise is not that much of an issue.

Since I purchased the unit, I did a test spray on shelving units in my shop, followed by refinishing an oak table, a wicker lounge chair, a wrought iron bench, and a desk I made for my daughters art room. Outstanding results on all of these projects using Benjamin Moore paints and Minwax varnish products. Saved a tremendous amount of time as well.

I’ve owned these puppies for 6 months now and use them with a vintage 65 watts per channel Technics class A amp, no subuwoofer, for listening to ROCK music only. Once the break-in period is left behind -though I think it’s mostly your ears that get used to the speakers- the apparent ¨harshness¨of the sound ( which I believe is more of a bad rap this brand had with older models than anything else) gives way to the most defined and clear sound these pair of ears have ever heard. And it’s the incredibly lively midrange -guitars and brasses sound AWESOME !!- what provides the proverbial Klipsch signature sound.

Bottom end is almost surgical in it’s flatness -read total absence of coloration- and it’s not that that is a bad thing, it’s only I’m used to speakers that are a tad ¨boomier¨for effect, even when I know it’s not the ¨right¨ thing to expect from audiophile speakers; it’s only a matter of tastes. With Klipsch, a kick-drum sound is as dry as it was recorded, period.

Upper treble is decent; cymbals have good presence, it’s not overwhelming or harsh but is not the most neutral or natural-sounding eitheir; nothing to worry about there though, I like it anyway and don’t think it could be be topped in its price range.

Stereo imaging is fantastic; the Tractix horns do and incredible job dispersing everything above 2100 hz over a 90 horizantal and 60 vertical degrees conical area which is way better than any other kind of tweeter can deliver.

At 95.5 db/w/m , the efficiency is very high, so you won’t have to force your amp any more, resulting in ZERO distortion and longer life for amp and speakers.

What I liked the most was the materials used in the manufacture of the drivers; there’re no paper or plastic involved, at all. The dual woofers are made of injection-molded GRAPHITE (read carbon) and the tweeter is aluminiun (read metal). Read durable.

I have thrown everything I got at these beasts at ear-bleeding levels(Venom-Slayer-Slipknot-Ozzy-Cannibal Corpse-Napalm Death etc) and they took them all with a smirk; is that everything you got,DUDE ?!

I had to choose between these and the dual 8¨JBL towers at the same price and upon listening I immediatedly relized the difference in favour of Klipsch. They ROCK, They’re better built, louder, sturdier, more compact and versatile…..I LOVE them !!

The build is very good to excellent, nice finish, black w/ titanium coloured plastic, veneer-coated,internally braced , heavily fiber-glass padded thick mdf fiberboard enclosures with the best individually adjustable feet I’ve ever seen make these speakers a breeze to set up on any kind of floor you might have, and they won’t tip over unless you are really a moron. They also have front-firing bass ports which is a blessing since they are less sensitive to placing in the room. Most speakers of today are rear-ported.

My only complaint ? I should have got myself the F3 for less than a mere U$ 200extr a bucks, serious s…t those, I’m tellin’ya !!!

After accidently pushing the wrong key and having all of my description erased, I’m back for a 2nd shot. I bought a pair of these Klipsch F-2’s 2 weeks ago. If I could describe these speakers in two words, it would be: Holy Sh#*t. These speakers kicked my butt. When running a good reciever or amp, you will get the best out of these speakers. I have recently upgraded my home theater system, but before I bought these, I had the Klipsch KG4’s. These were not bad speakers at all and they sounded better than most newer speakers that I have heard even though they were 25 years old (as old as me!). The reason I got the F-2’s was because I heard the Synergy Series at Best Buy a few years back and I’ve had my heart set on them ever since (even though I heard the F-3’s). I had a crappy reciever to today’s standards, which was the Sony SRT-DE595 or something like that. No HDMI inputs or outputs, no Dolby True HD or DTS-Master, and it made the Klipsch KG4 horns sound more harsh the louder it got. It was good for what I used it for, but after buying a new reciever from Pioneer, I now know what power I have been missing. For those curious, I bought the Pioneer VSX-919AH-K and it made those KG4’s sound amazing! But back to the product on this page, these Klipsh F-2’s are just like musical angels to my ears… 400 watt angels. I can hear everything and more now, and sometimes little details in the higher range that I never noticed before. Do not be fooled by the dual 6 1/2″ woofers! I tested them with a subwoofer test CD and I literally thought that my 10″ subwoofer was on before I noticed I hadn’t plugged it in. I heard frequencies so low that the air conditioner in the kitchen was making a waving sound by the time it reached my ears, and my girlfriend and I couldn’t understand each other as I blasted the sub test. Now, I like good bass response, and this exceeded my expectations, but what I really liked was how clear the high frequencies cut through even during the most intense bass. And everything has a flat response, I love it! I like hearing things as they are ment to be heard, without coloring and added bass or treble. I’m not really good at describing things, as you are probably thinking that right now. If you don’t beleive me, find some place you can check them out at and be prepared to be blown away by these speakers, and the Synergy Series in general. I have not heard $1000 or $20,000 speakers before, and I don’t intend to anytime soon, but I don’t understand how it can get better than this, especially for as much as these speakers cost. It’s really just amazing to me! Watching blu-ray movies and listening to music will not be the same anymore :) These speakers will have a home for a long, long time.

Ok, true audiophiles will probably not be satisfied with these. After all, you can get them (a pair) for under $800 and there are speakers out there that go for a lot more. So, if you are someone who is an expert at defining the quality of a set of speakers then go about your business.

Now, if you are basically a neophyte to speakers in any way, and you have the ability to put together a sound system that will rock your socks off when you are playing great music, then what you want to do is get you a set of these speakers, and match them to a great amplifier or receiver (I own an Onkyo A-9555 amplifier in the black color). Most people cannot lay down $2000 for a music system, let alone simply a pair of speakers. But for less than $1500 you can have a very good audio system here, and these speakers will also work with home theater ideas as well.

On the speakers themselves here’s what I can tell you: they are magnificent. These were an upgrade from a pair of polkaudio TSi300 speakers and the difference is undeniable. Crisper, more clarified sound across all ranges with tremendous highs and amazing mids. (If you desire to get greater depth at bass might I recommend a pair of Cerwin Vega CLS-12 speakers to run along with these) The bass is quite good for speakers if this kind and the experience over the sorts of music I tend to like (rock and metal) comes across very good, if just a bit on the bright side. I am currently playing music with a crashing depth of sound and it sounds absolutely killer. Potent and refined, with generous gravity. For the price they cannot be beaten. There’s not any better speakers on the market for the price.

So, grab you a pair, get you a nice power source, hook them up, and rock out.

Bought this computer 8 months ago. Has always run very slow, can not get many applications to work. Yesterday it completely crashed and will no longer boot past the checkdisk stage. Huge waste of money, I am not happy with this machine at all. Total lemon, would not buy a Dell again after all this hassle.

Oh! If I had a quarter for everytime this crappy system locked up, refused to cooperate, and died and was reborn I’d be rich. I swear it ran slower than an old 386. And no it didn’t have any excess amount of or bunches of installed programs. It just refused to operate on normal terms and went about it’s business as it had all the time in the world to do so.

Please! It didn’t even have enough memory to run a good internet security program which left me with being forced to use a less than perfect alternative. I was constantly forced to remove my photos and store either online on on cd’s because it just ran soo slow and then for no reason would not boot up. That caused me to lose important documents and irreplaceable photos each time.

If you enjoy troublesome pc’s, have the time to reinstall Win Vista and recover your software/applications about once every 2 weeks, then by all means get you one of these!

DON’T ACCEPT THIS PC EVEN AS A GIFT. THIS PC IS LIKE A DEAD TORTOISE.

I gave 1 star to this product as there is no option to leave that blank.

I am really impressed with this cookware. It only takes a minute or two to heat the food and it is also easy to clean.

The only problem I have with my set is that the lining is really thin. If you soak anything in the big pot it will leave a permanent stain.

The most important factor in my purchase of this product was they they can be washed in the dishwasher. With three kids, hand washing pots, pans and knives every night is just something I’m no longer willing to do. The manufacturer states that while these are dishwasher-proof, they still recommend hand washing. I have owned mine for a month now and washed them almost nightly in the dishwasher and they still look brand new. Quality is top-notch and worth every penny.

this pot set is quite wonderful! i love the cleanability and dishwasher-safe stainless and the nonstick is fantastic! it’s been hard to find a set with both attributes. the nonstick never needs soaking to get off tough, dried-on foods. the lids on a few are interchangeable, so you don’t have to have too many lids. the 2qt. pot lid fits the 8-inch skillet. the 3qt. pot, the 3.5 quart saute pan, and the stock pot all have the same diameter, so any of their lids can be used with the 10-inch skillet.

the only thing i would change is the make the 3.5 quart saute pan a little deeper, maybe by an inch or two. i realize that would also change the capacity for the better. the encapsulated aluminum bottom on all the pots and skillets really provides even heating.

i definitely think it’s worth it to get this 14-piece over the 12-piece. the only difference is the 12-inch everyday pan and it’s lid which has come in more handy than i thought. it’s a great size for 4-6 and possibly 8 servings of meat.

if you’re looking for quality stainless and nonstick, you’ll love this set!

This is the latest 2008 model from Q-see. I have had this unit for a month, and it is the newest edition h.264 DVR, Meaning that the compression method is most effecient compared to the old MPEG4 codec. The embedded IE viewer is excellent and feature rich, you can access the device outside your office and review old video, and even change settings of the device.

You can actually watch, record and review at the same time.

I installed a 500GB hard drive and it lasts one month at its highest quality settings, and one year at its lowest quality.

The only problem with this device is that the remote doesnt function properly without hitting the key many times, but the included USB mouse functions much better.

I am extremely happy with this unit, and I have tried units from all the top companies, such as Swann, Nuvico and Lorex. This is the best model on the market for 4 channel DVR.

I’ve had this unit for just about a week now and I’m already preparing to send it back. Whenever I hook a camera up to this unit and connect the video output to a monitor, the image quality is pixelated quite heavily to the point where it’s impossible to distinguish faces from 10 feet away in broad daylight (using Q-See’s own line of cameras such as the vandal-proof dome cam and the outdoor camera with the heater installed). Hooking the cameras up directly to a TV (bypassing this DVR unit) gives gives much better and clearer results.

Given the price, I would have loved to keep this unit but you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this unit for serious surveillance. Q-See’s internet monitoring functions work fairly well however it is a bit unstable – sometimes it takes a few login attempts to actually log into the device remotely. For any security DVR, this is not acceptable.

I did a side-by-side comparison with one of Costco’s lower end security DVR units (Astak brand) and so far, the Astak produces far better images with Q-See’s cameras. Astak’s remote management is simple but it works well and doesn’t require me to keep hammering away at the login screen to get in like this Q-See unit.

Note that this Q-See DVR did NOT come with any hard drive or the required hard drive mounting kit, although you can find both at any Fry’s Electronics or other electronics supply store (other than BestBuy, Circuit City)

I returned this unit. It’s very noisy and the software interface is awkward and limited.
